Sheriff Kirk A. Wakefield
Started his law enforcement career in 1979 with the Howell Police Department part-time and became full-time in 1981, due to budget cuts was laid off in 1982.
In May of 1983 he became employed by the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office as a Deputy and has held the positions of Corporal, Sergeant & Lieutenant. He served seven (7) years as the Undersheriff & became Sheriff of Crawford County in 2002 and continually elected unopposed to present.
