Sheriff Wallin has been with the Emmet County Sheriff’s Office for the last 35 years. Sheriff Wallin proudly served in the United States Navy Construction Forces (Seabees) 1974-1977 Active Duty and 1977-1980 Reserve Duty. Honorably discharged, Petty Officer 3rd Class. Attended Oakland Community College – Assoc. Degree (Law Enforcement Specialist) and Ferris State University – Bachelor of Science (Criminal Justice). During his career with the Emmet County Sheriff’s Office, that started in 1981, has served as a road patrol deputy, corrections, accident reconstructionist, D.A.R.E. Instructor, Undersheriff from 1993-2002, and current Sheriff since 2002. Sheriff Wallin also served as a patrolman for the City of Charlevoix Police Department, past member of the Harbor Springs School Board, and former West Traverse Township Clerk. Currently serving on the MSA Board of Directors.
