Scott D. Frank is a 1993 graduate of Tawas Area High School and a 1996 graduate of Northern Michigan University, where he also attended the NMU Regional Police Academy in August 1996.
While attending college, he worked part-time as a Police Dispatcher and Corrections Officer in Iosco County. After graduating from the Police Academy, he was hired as a full-time, certified Patrol Deputy with the Iosco County Sheriff’s Office.
Over the past 30 years, Sheriff Frank has been privileged to serve in many aspects of law enforcement, including Dispatcher, Corrections Officer, School Liaison Deputy, Township Deputy, K-9 Officer, Patrol Sergeant, Sheriff’s Captain, and Jail Administrator. His experience in these diverse roles provides him with a unique and well-rounded perspective on leadership and public service.
Sheriff Frank is committed to continuing the tradition of professionalism and integrity within the Sheriff’s Office. Since being elected in 2020, he has expanded the department from one Road Patrol Deputy to four, while also adding two School Liaison Deputies and growing the force to ten certified deputies.
Sheriff Frank has been married to his wife, Kathryn, for over 30 years. They reside in East Tawas and are proud parents to their three children, Wesley (Madison), Julia (Ramses), and Alexandra. They are also the proud grandparents of two beautiful granddaughters, Lucy and Callie.
