I am from St. Ignace and graduated from LaSalle High in 1988. I am completing my Bachelor’s Degree in Public Safety Administration. I have been a public servant for 30 years. I started as an EMT for Mackinaw City and St. Ignace in 1990. I have two (adult) kids and a handsome 1 year old grandson (that takes after grandpaJ). I worked as a parking enforcement officer for Mackinaw City Police Department. I continued my education in EMS and Law Enforcement. I became a Paramedic in February 1994. I put myself through Kirtland Community College Police Academy in 1995. After graduation I worked part time for Emmet County Sheriff’s Office assigned to recreation patrol. In March of 1996 I was hired full time by Ingham County Sheriff’s Office as a Road Patrol / Paramedic Deputy. After the paramedic program was disbanded I was assigned as a Corrections Deputy for 2 years. In March 2010 I was hired with Mackinac County Sheriff’s Office assigned as a west end resident deputy. I attended MSU in 2011 and was trained as an Accident Reconstructionist. I am a MSA Mission Team Investigator. In September 2013, I was appointed as Undersheriff of Mackinac County. I still work occasionally as a Paramedic for Straits EMS and Garfield EMS.
