Sheriff Scott Holzinger is a lifelong resident of Midland County. He attended Meridian Public Schools, and graduated from Saginaw Valley State University with a B.A in Criminal Justice.
Sheriff Holzinger began his career at the Midland County Sheriff’s Office as a part-time Marine Patrol Deputy. Upon graduation from SVSU, Sheriff Holzinger was hired full-time by the Midland County Sheriff’s Office in 2003 where he was assigned to Court Security. Sheriff Holzinger was promoted to the Road Patrol Division in 2004 where he later earned several awards including Deputy of the Year, MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Drivers), along with becoming a Field Training Officer, Firearms Instructor, DARE Instructor, and MISSION Investigator.
Sheriff Holzinger was promoted to the Detective Bureau in 2013 where he remained until his election as Sheriff of Midland County.
Sheriff Holzinger resides in Midland County with his wife of 19 years – Jennifer, and their two sons.
